MVSB Honors Employees at 25th Annual Employee Recognition Dinner

On Monday, March 4th nearly 200 MVSB employees and board members gathered for the Bank’s 25th Annual Employee Recognition Dinner held at Church Landing at Mill Falls in Meredith. This event, put together by the Human Resources team, provides an opportunity for the Bank to formally recognize the achievements of its staff. Employees are acknowledged at the event for years of service, educational achievements, exceptional performance and volunteer efforts.

Each year, the theme of the event surrounds one of MVSB’s core values: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Stewardship. This year’s event highlighted Respect, a value that is clearly displayed by MVSB employees in their support of fellow co-workers, customers and the community. A slideshow that played throughout the dinner highlighted MVSB employee volunteer work during the past year. In 2012, MVSB employees contributed 10,400 hours of community service to 234 non-profit organizations across the greater Lakes Region.

Opening remarks for the event were made by MVSB’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Laverack. During these remarks, Laverack thanked employees for going above and beyond their normal responsibilities in 2012 to meet the demands of increased regulation and a historically low mortgage rate environment.

In an effort to mitigate rising technology and compliance costs and increase customer convenience, MVSB recently formed a strategic alliance with Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack). Paul Rizzi, President and Chief Executive Officer for the Merrimack, also spoke at the event. Rizzi acknowledged the similarities in employee appreciation and community commitment between the two financial institutions. He also thanked employees for their enthusiasm for and cooperation with the recent alliance between the two banks.

MVSB was pleased to recognize the following employees for their milestone years of service:

  • 5 Years: Kasey Borski, Nathaniel Connolly, Michael Nolan, Sharon Shetler, Brandi Smith and Tamara VanLenten
  • 10 Years: Amy Andrews, Cindy Balint, Tracey Clarenbach, Nancy Cunningham, Melissa French, Cami LaPierre and Joanne Pearce
  • 15 Years: Patricia Colby and Donna Ryan
  • 20 Years: Kris Faulkingham and Debbie Flanders
  • 25 Years: Cynthia Oxton and Jill White
  • 30 Years: Sharon Hamelin

Additionally, three MVSB employees received special recognition for their educational achievements:

  • Joanne Pearce, Stonier Graduate School of Banking
  • Cheryl Carter, Leadership Lakes Region and Northern New England School of Banking
  • Katrina Randlett, Northern New England School of Banking

“MVSB is so fortunate to have employees that strive to maintain meaningful relationships within our communities and to provide service that exceeds the expectations of our customers,” said Samuel Laverack, President and Chief Executive Officer. “If the quality of a bank’s employees is any indication of its success, MVSB certainly has a strong future ahead of it.”
