We are pleased to welcome Amy Bergen as Vice President, CRA and Fair Lending Officer. Bergen will be responsible for overall compliance with laws ensuring fair access to credit, overseeing programs for community reinvestment and acting as the liaison for regulators, ensuring NHMB affiliate banks Savings Bank of Walpole, Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack) and MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank), meet community lending needs equitably.
“We are excited to bring Amy on board, “said Wendy Clark, SVP, Chief Compliance Officer. “She brings a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years with banking, from small credit unions to national banks and consulting firms. Her last 15 years have specialized in regulatory compliance and she has a special passion for community based mutual banks.”
Bergen considers joining NHMB like completing her New England trifecta of banking. “I previously lived and worked in Massachusetts for several years with roles at both a credit union and a bank, and for the last twenty years have worked in Maine at both banks and credit unions, as well as in consulting. Returning to the world of community banking as part of a mutual provides me a wonderful opportunity to focus on our efforts to give back to the communities we serve, “noted Bergen.

Bergen has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern NH University and holds a CRCM (certified regulatory compliance manager designation). She has coordinated Junior Achievement volunteerism for a community bank, volunteered at local food pantries and supported community programs focused on at-risk youth and homeless populations. Financial literacy education is a big part of her passions as well. In her free time, Bergen enjoys fly fishing, kayaking and baking and loves to visit museums and historical sites.
