Nearly 300 employees of New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) gathered earlier this month for their annual employee appreciation banquet. Alex Sorell, Deposit Operations Representative for NHMB, won the company’s first-ever Circle of Excellence Peer among Peers award for regularly demonstrating excellence, respect and teamwork, core tenets of the organization’s corporate values. NHMB includes Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank and MillRiver Wealth Management. In addition, the Savings Bank of Walpole recently announced that they will be joining the organization.
Sorell was voted ‘Peer among Peers’ from 44 Circle of Excellence winners in 2017. “Alex is incredibly positive and upbeat—it’s always a pleasure to interact with him,” read one of the entries recognizing Sorell. “As a member of our front line, I appreciate Alex’s help each time I’ve called with product or service questions. There is a lot of pressure that is placed on employees who are on the front line in banking, as face-to-face interaction with customers requires immediate problem-solving. Alex helps put our customers at ease with his patience and professionalism. I never feel that my calls to him are intrusive or bothersome, as he genuinely seems happy to help. He listens well and is always very considerate. Alex personifies our values and I’m honored to work with him!”
Launched in 2017, the NHMB Circle of Excellence employee recognition program supports and promotes a positive working environment so employees know their work is valuable, purposeful and recognized. Employees nominate peers for recognition who make a habit of going the extra mile for customers, co-workers and the community. NHMB and its employees are guided by the values of accountability, mutuality, excellence, respect, integrity, teamwork and stewardship.
Additional NHMB honorees who received Circle of Excellence recognition in 2017 included: Amy LeClair, Annemarie Ogley, Ashley Bussolari, Ashley Farris, Brooklyn McBee, Cassandra Allen, Cathleen Sleeper, Chelsea Gardner, Chelsea Toce, Cody Gibbs, Deb Sturgeon, Deb Cunha, Debbie Van Zandt, Denise Hubbard, Eric Petell, Hannah Jakubens, Heidi Stiles, Jacob Zoeller, Jason Scheiman, Jessica LaBonte, Jessica Ruel, Kathy Batchelder, Katrina Randlett, Kim Gilmore, Kimberly Drinkwine, Kimberly Lesnewski, Laurie Mothes, Lisa Garnett, Lorinda Gilbert, Marcia Gagnon, Mary Obara, Megan Piazza, Michele Masters, Nancy Mardin, Nate Connolly, Nicole LaPorte, Peter Thompson, Stacy MacIntyre, Steve Bennett, Sue Dagostino, Sue Spiller, Tom Cimikoski and Tori Harrington.
NHMB was recently voted best place to work by the Concord Monitor CAPPIES for the second year in row and appeared in the Concord Insider’s May 22nd issue. The CAPPIE awards, which represents the Capital Area’s Peoples’ Preferences, is an annual tradition for readers to cast ballots online for the very best in Greater Concord. NHMB received the distinct honor of being voted “Best Place to Work” by public vote.
“Our employees are a top priority at New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp, and it is evident every day by the pride they show in being a part of the team,” said David Cronin, Senior Vice President of Human Resources. “The entire organization is focused on acquiring, developing and retaining top talent, and we work hard to ensure our corporate culture continues to positively benefit our employees, our communities and our companies. A great deal of time and energy is invested in ensuring our actions and policies promote a healthy workplace culture, offering both work and community involvement opportunities that are rewarding for all.”
