
NHMB is proud to announce the appointment of Robert J. Dietel, Esq., as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer. Dietel brings extensive administrative law experience with a strong focus on the financial and insurance sectors to help strengthen NHMB and its affiliates.
In this dual-role executive position, Dietel will establish the organization’s in-house legal function and oversee the enterprise risk management program, helping to advance a proactive, enterprise-wide approach to risk. As part of the Executive Team, he will provide strategic legal counsel and contribute to carrying out the company’s strategic plan. He will also have a significant role in assisting in the governance practices of the company. Dietel will be based at NHMB’s Foundry St. operations facility in Concord.

Dietel joins NHMB with a highly regarded legal background and a strong record of recognition in his field. He has been recognized by his peers for inclusion in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Concord, NH, in Administrative/Regulatory Law, Land Use and Zoning Law, and Government Relations Practice. He was also named a top administrative law attorney in Concord, NH, by New England Super Lawyers for 2025 and received the Rising Stars designation from 2017-2021. Dietel is admitted to practice before the New Hampshire Supreme Court; the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire; the First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Dietel graduated with honors from Colgate University and earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where he served on the Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy and the Moot Court Honor Board. He currently is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the NH Historical Society, and is a Member of the Campaign for Legal Services Leadership Council. Dietel has previously served as an appointed Member of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and as a trustee of the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum in Warner, NH.
