Michael Green, Vice Chair, Merrimack County Savings Bank Board of Directors (Retired)

Michael Green, Vice Chair of Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack) and Trustee of the Bank’s shared services company, New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB), announced his retirement from both positions effective March 31, 2022.

Green was elected to the Merrimack County Savings Bank Board of Directors in 2000 and was a founding member of the NHMB Board of Trustees in 2013. He has also been a longtime member of the Investment and Audit Committees for both the Merrimack and NHMB.

NHMB comprises three mutual community banks and a wealth management firm who maintain separate organizations and management, providing risk management, facilities, human resource, finance, compliance, information technology, deposit operations, loan operations and digital banking services to the Merrimack, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Savings Bank of Walpole and NHTrust.

“Throughout his 22 year tenure, Mike has aided in the growth of the Bank, starting with just two locations in Concord to the modern  financial institution it is today, with seven full-service branches,” said Linda Lorden, President of the Merrimack. “His loyalty to the community has positively influenced our values and we are fortunate for his faithful leadership over the years.”

Serving as the CEO of Concord Hospital for 21 years, Green retired in December 2013. One of the major projects the hospital undertook during his tenure was the capital campaign and construction of the Payson Center for Cancer Care. Despite retirement, Green remains active in the Greater Concord community, having also served on the Boards for The Concord Group Insurance Company and Unitil. He resides in Hopkinton with his wife and says that even though they now spend part of the winter in Florida, they will always consider New Hampshire home.
