MVSB Collects 1,860 Cold-Weather Items, Donates $3,270 to Local Nonprofits

MVSB proudly collected and donated 1,860 mittens, hats, gloves and scarves during the 2023 MVSB annual Mitten Tree Drive. In addition, MVSB presented a $2 donation match for each item collected for a total of $3,270 split between 10 local nonprofits addressing food insufficiency issues for local children.

MVSB has held its annual Mitten Tree Drive each winter since 1979. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Bank collects cold-weather item donations at every MVSB branch location. Employees display them on their “Mitten Tree” and then distribute the items to local schools, daycares and other organizations that support families in need throughout the winter.
